Good Movies on Netflix: Leaving Las Vegas (1995)

1928

One of the flicks that made Nic Cage’s career (before the whole selling-his-castle fire sale thing), Leaving Las Vegas is a pretty heavy movie that portrays an out-of-work Hollywood writer’s game-ender of a binge when he sells his stock and relocates to Sin City. That being said, alternating moments of humor and drama make for an entertaining screening if you’re into that sort of thing.

Oh, and Elisabeth Shue talking about what you can do to her for a few bucks is worth the price of admission in and of itself. But I digress…

All you drunks should check this one out as a preview of what we’ve got to look forward to twenty-odd years down the line.
